Pictures: The SAS Jolly

A good outing is 1% work and 99% jolly, and it's even better when the 'work' involves permission to enter a beautiful area like this one. This area is restricted because of the amount of delicate moss and lichen found there. John (balancing on a non-mossed rock) takes a photo to compare the current moss coverage with that in photos he took on a previous trip.

One of the scenes, with the old photo held up for comparison.

The lake, with the ice shelf looming.

Lloyd walking down to the ice tongue.

John testing the frozen ice.

Walking into the white.

Fairy rings in the rocky ground.

Welcome to the dryest, most desert-like continent on earth.

Damon fording a stream barefoot.

The SAS crew at Watts Hut.

Angus and guitar traverse the bridge.

The last hike out of the Vestfolds.
