Yes. More berg photos. Don't worry, there's another thousand where they came from.

Arrival at Davis Base

good morning antarctica!

welcome to Davis
Zhong Shan visit

Aerial view of Davis from the chopper on the way to Zhong Shan, the Chinese Base 110 km east of Davis. The green building is the main living and sleeping quarters.

The leftmost crate of the four in the foreground is my donga, or sleeping quarters. We share it between four of us. The red one behind it and to the left, with a big white A on the front, is the toilet and shower block. The A is a relic of a line-up of dongas they used to have, each of which had a letter on its side so that they formed a huge sign reading DAVIS. Unfortunately this year most of them were removed due to asbestos contaimination; now all that remains is the A, and a V on one donga which is standing by itself a hundred metres or so away down at the wharf.

Flying over the Sorsdal Glacier on the way to Zhong Shan

Zhong Shan base, showing the main living quarters.

The Zhong Shan directions sign. I think every base in Antarctica has one of these somewhere.
